Founder & CEO Muhannad Haimour
Muhannad Haimour, President and CEO of the Haimour Group began his career in 1992 as a full time volunteer at the Arab Community Center for Economic & Social Services (ACCESS), North America’s premier Arab American organization. A motivated self starter, he formally joined the organization and advanced to the position of Operations Manager for the Employment and Training Department, managing the day to day operations while promoting excellence in program development, client satisfaction, and meeting and exceeding annual goals for job placement. Building on his success, Muhannad established and directed the Human Resources Department at ACCESS, where he designed and implemented policies and procedures, as well as comprehensive employee training programs for approximately 185 employees.
In 2005, Muhannad became the Executive Director of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce (AACC), the largest Arab American chamber in the country. In addition to managing the day to day operations at AACC, Muhannad facilitated business relations and building bridges with the Arab community and the Arab world. That same year, Muhannad led the first Black Caucus Congressional Delegation to Egypt. Ever since its inception, Muhannad served as a consultant and later the Director of the Arab International Festival, the largest event of its kind in the country. He also served as the Security Coordinator for the first U.S. Arab Economic Forum, as well as many other major events. Muhannad is the founder and former publisher of Forum & Link, a bi-lingual, biweekly community newspaper celebrating Arab America. In its fifth year, Forum & Link has a circulation of 5000 copies with an estimated 25,000 pass-through readership. The newspaper was sold in 2009 and continues to be one of the most popular Arab American newspapers.
The Haimour Group was established to provide a complete portfolio of professional services, with a primary focus on promoting and facilitating positive business relationships with the Arab American communities, and the Arab World. “The World is a Village” encompasses the use of modern technology to build and maintain a worldwide network of professional and business partnerships, while incorporating personal standards of integrity, dedication, and excellence.
In 2008 and under contract with the US Department of Defense - Task Force for Business & Stability Operations, Muhannad worked as a Senior Consultant with Grant Thornton to support the Iraqi National Investment Commission and provincial investment commissions throughout Iraq. He acted as an advisor to the Chairman and Deputy Chairman, provided extensive assessment reports and recommendations to develop the organization’s infrastructure, investment promotion tools and strategies, website development, process mapping, staff training and development, and overall capacity building. Muhannad also interpreted high profile meetings, including one meeting between the Prime Minister of Iraq and Prime Minister of the UK. Muhannad played a leading role in organizing major investment conferences such as the U.S. – Iraq Business and Investment Conference in Washington, D.C. in October 2009 and the London - Invest Iraq Conference in April of 2009.
In March 2011 and after the completion of his assignment, Muhannad returned to Iraq to set up the branch office for the Haimour Group in Baghdad where he currently resides. The company is one of the first international consulting companies to set up shop in Iraq.
Since 1992, Muhannad has been providing interpreting / translation services, and in 2006 he founded the Arab American Language Institute (AALI). AALI provides quality translation and interpreting services in all fields to a wide range of customer base including individual customers, small businesses, corporations, and government entities. Muhannad has personally translated and supervised the translation of thousands of documents from all countries in the Arab world. Muhannad is a certified translator, an accredited trainer for interpreters, and a language consultant for a number of states. Muhannad has attended hundreds of seminars, workshops, and conferences to strengthen his knowledge and experience. In 2003, he graduated from Schoolcraft College - Police Academy to become a Dearborn Reserve Police Officer. He is also a graduate of Leadership Detroit and the Multicultural Immersion Program. Muhannad holds a Bachelors degree in Public Administration, with a minor in English Language and Literature from Yarmouk University in Jordan. He is the recipient of numerous public awards.
